RETREAT TO NAMING CEREMONY -,

RETREAT TO NAMING CEREMONY
¼,d vkSj ukedj.k& yhyk/kj txwM+h English translation by GPBahuguna ½

If post death naming rituals were in fashion
Denoting all deeds and misdeeds of a person
The list of good and bad feats should go
pretty long
And the extension of the regime of hell become inescapable
Raising problems further.

How agonizing are the people
With a habit to keep an eye on others
Sparing their own self.
When habit takeovers the imbibed traits
It becomes hard to check that habit
But to get rid of it is even harder.

Particular things are holy and the rest deemed unholy
On this earth
There is holier aspect of everything in the world
Which resolution were beneficial for the men
If the numerology of actions could teach us to fight our basic tendencies.
Or given freedom to judge the dying man's compulsion theory
If the actions against humanity could not be justified
In the name of struggle for existence
If the life reduced to Dragging, tattered invalidity
By the strong network of injustice could not be reviewed by a changed mindset
There was a possibility of the restoration of lost glory
Of the weak even after his death
It is not proper to leave all justice at the disposal of the God of Death.
I struck upon this poem during a census duty assigned to me
The person I had gone to survey was waiting his death.
The dying man said something in symbols, which suggested
Some injustice had been done
This could not be ascertained whether it was he or someone else
His family members and well-wishers misunderstood it for
The dying man's delirium.

They began to speak like successors of his legacy.
-We shall not let your legacy die
You can breathe out peacefully.

While returning from the cremation ground
I was thinking
That there should be a post death baptism
For every man to be named again.
